| Planets | | The traditional “planets” used in a horoscope are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The Sun is actually a star and the Moon a satellite of Earth. The Sun and Moon are sometimes called “the Lights” to distinguish them from the planets, but generally all are lumped together for convenience. Earth is not included in most horoscopes because they are geocentric --viewing everything from the perspective of Earth.
