The first 911 series was shown to the public in early 1964 with production beginning in September. Based on an air cooled engine the 911 soon got a Super-car status, due to its speed, acceleration and handling. Over the years the marque has been modified to be even faster and handle with incredible precision. Its rear engine positioning gives the car a unique handling dynamic. Tied together with the flat six air-cooled engine, with a unique sound only available on the 911.
